What is this?
The Forest Data Bank is a data warehouse that collects and stores information, updates it, compiles and analyzes it, and then makes it available in many ways.
Portal by operation of law
Maintaining the Forest Data Bank of all forms results from the provisions of the Forest Act (Article 13a).
Start of the Forest Data Bank
The portal was officially launched in 2013, and pilot and implementation work lasted four years.
What is this for?
The Forest Data Bank was created to transparently present the condition of Polish forests, in economic and natural terms, and to show the possibilities of using social functions.
Where to start?
The essence of information about the condition of forests in Poland is the annual Report on the Condition of Forests, which can be found on the BDL website.
Where did this information come from?
The portal provides data on the results of cyclical management works, annual results of large-scale forest inventory, annual data from the State Forests information system, publications of the Central Statistical Office and many others.
Set data!
Thanks to special generators, you can easily select specific information about the forest, in particular years, for a specific area.
Not only state-owned
About 20 percent of Poland's forests are privately owned. Only thanks to the Forest Data Bank (BDN) is knowledge about them publicly available.
