The Forest Data Bank was established to transparently present the state of Polish forests, both economically and environmentally, and to demonstrate the potential for utilizing their social functions. The Forest Data Bank collects data that is used for national and international statistics, as well as to establish indicators of sustainable forest management, both at the national and regional levels. It has become one of the main resources of the forest data bank for all forms of ownership, a key element of the forestry planning and forecasting system.
