Welcome to Forest Data Bank.

 Forest Entry Bans

Periodic forest entry bans are implemented by the relevant forest districts through a dedicated system created and maintained as part of the BDL (Forest Data Bank). This system is available at zakazywstepu.bdl.lasy.gov.pl. Areas subject to entry bans are introduced and lifted on an ongoing basis, and updates can be made at any time. The system does not implement entry bans for individual forest units resulting from forest management activities.

Information about periodic entry bans is presented on the entry ban map, both on the website and in the mBDL mobile app.

Under the BDL system, the relevant forester may impose an entry ban on a state forest for reasons such as:

  • fire threat - the ban is implemented due to a high risk of starting a fire,
  • certain protective measures being undertaken - (may pose a threat to people in the forest),
  • other reasons - including: There has been destruction or significant damage to tree stands or degradation of the forest floor (e.g., in a forest hit by a hurricane and broken trees pose a threat to humans).

Such a ban may also be imposed by the government for various reasons, primarily states of emergency.
